Cross section: Point grids

Point grids are used to define geometrically the position of tendon points. These points may be used to define tendons (tendon scheme).

Three different types of grids are available:

  • Ray (line with start point)
  • Line segment (ranged at 2 points)
  • Grid (quadrangular ranged area)
SettingDescription
Ray

Using the specified distance to the base line, Points will be created. Each construction line has a certain direction. This direction defines the meaning of "Left" and "Right". The 2nd line is used as line, where the points start from.

The number of points have to be specified.

Line segment

As a difference to the ray (s.above), a 3rd construction line limits the point sequence. Points will be created between the 2nd and the 3rd line along the base line.

The number of points is a result of the position of the lines and the specified distances.

Note: Since both the distances and the construction lines may vary along the stationing, the number of points may vary along the segment. For a real case, the construction lines and distances vary in a way, that the number of points is constant.
Grid

The grid is limited by 4 construction lines. These lines have to be selected clockwise or anti-clockwise (not crossing). The point will be created starting at the 1st corner (the point sequence is determined by the line sequence). The grid points will be generated from the lines to the center.

The number of points is a result as for the line segment (s.above).

RM-export

The grids will be exported as reference sets to RM. That is why the name of a grid must not be used as name of a reference set and vice versa.
